The Love Philippolis Early Childhood Development Centre (LPECD) is a place of learning, love, and opportunity.
This is the place where we aim to instil values upon which learners can build a more positive future for themselves. With the right support, we can offer our children the best education possible from the very beginning.
We are a passionate group of individuals in our community who have come together to launch a vital project—the Love Philippolis Early Childhood Development Centre—aimed at giving our young children the best possible start in life.
The idea for this centre came from seeing many children from age 3 to 6 in our community who lack access to quality early childhood education. Statistics have shown that children with a quality Early Childhood Development Centre (ECD) background excel better at school.
We believe every child deserves the opportunity to thrive. We aim to prepare children from disadvantaged communities not only for school, but for life. Equipping them with a love for learning, self-confidence, intrinsic motivation, respect and a sense of order through working with materials at their own pace and according to their unique needs.
We are fortunate to have secured a building for the centre, but we need financial support to transform the facility into an early childhood school. This includes renovations, educational materials, child-friendly furniture, safety measures, and basic resources.
In addition to startup costs, we require ongoing funding to ensure the project remains sustainable and continues to benefit future generations of children in Philippolis.
A key part of our mission is to empower our entire community. We aim to employ and train local residents to teach at the centre, which not only builds skills and creates jobs but also ensures that the heart of this project remains rooted in the people of Philippolis.
